Riding the Waves of Digital Creativity

Leicester Square is a renowned public space in the heart of London, known for its vibrant atmosphere and rich history as a center for entertainment and leisure. As a cultural hub and social gathering place, it plays an important role in shaping the urban experience and the relationship between people and their environment. This project, called "Digital Wave," aims to explore this relationship by creating an interactive installation that responds to the movements and emotions of the people in the square. By using cutting-edge technology and a network of small, illuminated units, the project seeks to enhance the sense of connection and engagement between individuals and their surroundings, while also reflecting the dynamic, ever-changing nature of the urban landscape. Through this innovative and thought-provoking installation, we hope to inspire new ways of thinking about the role of technology in shaping the public sphere and the experiences of the people who inhabit it.

The installation is designed to create a deep connection between people and the surrounding environment. Digital Wave encourages users to interact with the installation and with each other through the use of their mobile devices, allowing them to set the movement of the individual boxes to match their emotional state. This creates an immersive and responsive environment that blends with the physical surroundings, forming a symbiotic relationship between people and space.

Descriptions

Technical Concept : The installation is made possible through the use of advanced sensing and communication technologies. The boxes are equipped with sensors and microcontrollers that allow them to communicate with each other and with a central control system. The central control system receives data from various sources, such as the users' mobile devices and the sensors in the environment, and uses this data to control the movement and color of the boxes.

Visual Concept : Digital Wave creates a stunning visual display of light and movement that blends seamlessly with the environment. The web-like structure of the installation creates a sense of interconnectedness and fluidity, with the boxes moving in unison or in different patterns, creating a unique and dynamic display that captures the attention of passersby.
